1. What is your favorite part of the Chicago Yarn Crawl? 

I love discovering new local shops and connecting with fellow crafters and creators throughout Chicagoland. The sense of community and inspiration during the event is truly special.

2. How long have you been in business and how did you get started?

Fiber Friends Studios began as a craft meetup in 2015, created to help me connect with my new Hyde Park neighborhood. The response was so positive that we quickly expanded into an online store and began hosting yarn tasting events and pop-up shops. In April 2025, we proudly opened our brick-and-mortar location, and we couldn’t be happier to be a part of Chicago’s vibrant South Side community!

3. What makes your shop unique?

Fiber Friends Studios is a creative hub for knitting, crochet, embroidery, cross-stitch, and sewing. We offer an extensive selection of wool, versatile fibers, and notions, along with over 500 DMC floss colors, 275+ buttons, and a variety of needle art kits. But what truly sets us apart is our passion for community. Our regular meetups are filled with laughter, learning, and genuine connections. At Fiber Friends Studios, you’ll always find encouragement, enthusiasm, and a welcoming spirit.

4. What is your favorite part of being an LYS owner? 

Connecting with the fiber arts community! I love being part of a creative and curious group, all working together to build a supportive network.
