1. What is your favorite part of the Chicago Yarn Crawl?
We love the strong community bonds the CYC brings to Chicago. It’s a wonderful feeling to have all the shops work together for the community here in Chicago. And of course, we love creating a fun event for every crawler! It’s a wonderful time to celebrate creativity and each maker we meet!
2. How long have you been in business and how did you get started?
Firefly Fiber Arts Studio is a mom and daughter duo who opened its doors in Jan. of 2017. We loved being a part of the community and wanted create a new space promoting kindness and creativity. We saw a need for all natural and sustainable fibers and crafting supplies, and knew that was our calling. We are so happy to see how popular our shared mission has become within the community.
3. What makes your shop unique?
Firefly is committed to offering socially and environmentally responsible yarns free of plastic or harmful chemicals and practices. We work hard to offer local yarns, as well sustainable and naturally dyed yarn. We also offer a variety of classes and workshops for all types of makers.
4. What is your favorite part of being an LYS owner?
We love being a safe space for all crafters. Our community is very important to us, and we work hard with our community to listen to the wants and needs to create a fun, kind, inspiring and creative space! We love being surrounded by yarn everyday but, the people are the best part.
