1. What is your favorite part of the Chicago Yarn Crawl?
As a new yarn store, this is our first year being a part of the Chicago Yarn Crawl. I have always loved seeing our Chicago fiber community come together for the crawls and support what we all love. I've always supported the crawl as a patron and I"m super excited to be on the other side of things this year.
2. How long have you been in business and how did you get started?
The Three Birds Yarn Studio Brick and Mortar shop opened in August 2025. I started the online yarn shop during covid as a follow up business to my Lizzy Knits knitwear design company. I used the platform to sell kits for my designs with a brick and mortar yarn shop as my ultimate goal.
3. What makes your shop unique?
I think my background as pattern designer comes in handy when helping customers with their own projects and learning new skills. I love helping people build confidence with their craft and helping to troubleshoot difficult skills. I honestly just love seeing what everyone is working on :).
4. What is your favorite part of being an LYS owner?
I love all aspects of the fiber industry. I wrote knitting patterns for the past 12 years and always had a yarn shop as my end goal. I am beyond thrilled that after 10 years of dreaming of this shop, it is finally a reality. It is very rewarding.
